MMDA GM Torre extends leave until Oct. 15: Artes

October 08, 2026

MANILA — Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicholas Torre III has extended his leave until mid-October, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes Jr said.

Torre earlier filed a month-long leave following the controversy involving an MMDA-marked patrol vehicle.

Torre has extended his leave for 15 days or until October 15 to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral, Artes told ABS-CBN News.

“October 16 babalik (si GM Torre) sa office, Artes said.

Torre earlier floated the idea of early retirement.

The Land Transportation Office has imposed sanctions against Torre’s driver.

The MMDA, meanwhile, said it did not impose a separate sanction against Torre since it lacked disciplinary authority over the general manager, who is a presidential appointee.
