MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte has until Monday to file her answer to the Articles of Impeachment against her, the Office of the Senate Secretary said.
“Duterte can respond personally, through counsel or through electronic mail,” Senate Secretary Atty. Jose Montales said in a media release on Sunday.
As the Vice President marked her birthday on Sunday, House trial spokesperson and Kabataan Party-list Rep. Renee Co said the occasion would be best observed by addressing calls for accountability and taking part in the impeachment proceedings.
“Well, sagutin sana ang wish ng taumbayan sa kanyang kaarawan ang matagal nang hinahanap sa kanya yung pagharap sa proseso ng pananagutan,” Co added.
The impeachment trial is scheduled to start on July 6, while Duterte’s camp previously said it is ready to participate in the proceedings.
