Toyota To Integrate Alexa Into Their Cars

You know that Amazon Echo which has been the rage all over households in the USA? That woman’s voice of the Echo called Alexa will be heard in many Toyota cars soon, after Toyota agreed to integrate Alexa into its automobiles.
“Voice services are rapidly becoming more popular and through our integration with Amazon Alexa, Toyota and Lexus customers will soon be able to easily speak to Alexa in their cars while on-the-go,” Said Toyota Chief Information Officer Zack Hicks.
The Amazon Alexa voice assistant is the most efficient in voice recognition applications after Apple’s Siri. Automakers like Ford and Chevrolet have struggled for a long time to develop a voice assistant for their cars but came up with crude and ineffective experiences.
The new technology by Amazon for Toyota’s and Lexus’ will be available on select vehicles with the available Toyota Entune 3.0 App Suite and Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0. Just like on the Echo device, Alexa will allow Toyota drivers to pull up navigations, radio stations, music, get the news, go shopping on the go, monitor home devices, and ask for the weather using the voice-command system.
The move will allow Toyota drivers to use Alexa’s speech-command system to order navigation, pick entertainment options, get the news, add items to a shopping cart and other services.
Toyota is not the first to hook up with Amazon. Ford and Hyundai have tried before. Car companies have been trying to institute an interface system with other mobile devices like Apple’s Carplay and Google’s Adroid Auto for years now, but this is a first for a actual speech-command software that works in homes already.
