Over at Okada Hotel, Alexis Yasuda works as Executive Host , a job he acquired a few months after joining the hotel staff in 2016 before the hotel’s soft opening in December.,
The hotel is set for its Grand Opening by April 2018.
The eldest son of a Japanese father and Filipino mother, Alex was raised by his maternal grandmother. While studying Accounting at the Jose Rizal University, Alex worked part time at the CCP as an usher. It was then that he caught the acting bug.
“Acting has been my passion since I was a teenager,” Alex bares.
He joined Tanghalang Pilipino and then Philippine Stagers (2008-2012) and PETA. In 2015, he joined the Masters Class under Anton Juan of the Theater Actors Guild. That same year, he was off to Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, USA on a scholarship, to take up TV Film and Theater , majoring in Acting.
Earlier, he appeared on TV and missed a chance for TV stardom when he gave way to Jerome Ponce for a role in “Be Careful with My Heart”.
A year later, he wrote the script for the film” Hinabing Pakpak ng Ating Mga Anak”, which Anton Juan directed.
This year, he appeared in Virgin Labfest’s “Love Team” at the CCP, and was nominated Best Actor in a Non-Musical Production by the Aliw Awards Foundation, Inc.., which will present the annual Aliw Awards at the Manila Hotel on December 19,2017.
Life is rosy for Alexis Yasuda, who has chosen to stay in the Philippines, where opportunities for acting abound.
In the meantime, he is doing pretty well at Okada Hotel at a job that keeps him on his toes.
One can be sure that this young man’s varied talents will bring him the fulfilment of his heart’s desire: success as an actor, whether on stage or the movies or television.
We wish him luck!
